TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (MNA) – Syrian air defense assets engaged several Israeli missiles in the skies over Damascus, a commanding officer of the Syrian Armed Forces announced.
"An aggressive attack against our military positions was made at Monday night, at about 23:05 p.m. The adversary delivered strikes against the capital from the side of occupied Golan Heights," the spokesman said.
"The Syrian air defense managed to repel the attack, downing several enemy missiles," he noted.
Material damage was sustained as a result of firing and there were no casualties among the personnel, the spokesman added.
Damascus has consistently complained to the United Nations about Israeli assaults, urging the Security Council to take action against Israel's actions. However, these demands have gone unanswered.
